I’m so excited to launch a new series this month, written by some of the most trusted voices in the industry. As a paid subscriber exclusive, I asked these leaders to write about their specific area of expertise and, where possible, provide tactical resources like checklists and spreadsheets.
We’re starting with Kendall Dickieson, who does an amazing job with her own newsletter for social media managers called No Filter. You might recognize Dickieson from her work with Graza but she also consults for multiple DTC and CPG brands.
When I first asked Kendall about writing something for me, she was deep in a social audit for one of her clients. And that sparked the inspiration for today’s bonus newsletter: How to Run a Social Media Audit.
Besides, how better to start the year than with a fresh look at your social accounts. We also created an audit spreadsheet to help you track your efforts!
This is just the first in a series of expert-led newsletters meant to give you the tools to succeed in 2025. There’s more coming from MIT’s social lead Jenny Li Fowler, briefcase app influencer Jayde Powell, fandom expert Dr. Georgie Carroll, executive Jamie Gutfreund and more.
I’ve also saved a couple of spots in case you have any requests or suggestions for topics you’d like to see covered this year. Reply to this email to let me know!

Okay, be honest: when was the last time you took a step back to really look at your social media? Not just checking how your last post did, but analyzing the bigger picture — like what’s working, what’s not, and if your platforms are actually driving the results you’re looking for.
Keep in mind, results differ and are defined differently for each team or brand. For some, it’s strictly a matter of brand awareness and for others, it might be a huge conversion channel.
If it’s been a while (or, uh, never), it’s audit time. I promise it’s not as scary as it sounds — and once you’ve done one, you’ll feel way more in control of your strategy that you’re working on. Whether you’re part of a brand’s social team or just want to fix your own personal brand for the new year, it’s as easy as cake.
Here’s how to break it down:
